This Veterans Day, Robert and the Robert Irvine Foundation had the honor of gathering with more than 150 veterans, their families, and caregivers for a meaningful Breaking Bread With Heroes luncheon at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home. With the generous support of our partners at Red Lobster, the afternoon became a powerful reminder of why this tradition means so much, connection through food, fellowship, and shared stories.

We were especially humbled to welcome six World War II veterans, whose presence served as a living testament to courage, sacrifice, and enduring patriotism. These heroes, along with veterans from every era of service, created an atmosphere filled with gratitude and unity.

The Foundation was also privileged to host Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, continuing the spirit of community we shared just one day earlier at a Breaking Bread With Heroes luncheon held at the Governor’s residence. Both gatherings highlighted an important truth: a simple meal can bring people together in profound and healing ways.

Breaking Bread With Heroes has always been more than a program, it is a promise. A promise to honor service, bridge generations, and remind our nation’s heroes that their sacrifices will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Delaware Valley Veterans Home staff for their unwavering dedication, compassion, and year-round care.

On this Veterans Day, we didn’t just say “thank you”, we showed it. Through a meal made with care, served with respect, and shared like family.

On behalf of the Robert Irvine Foundation and our partners at Red Lobster, thank you to every veteran in attendance and across the nation. It is our privilege to serve those who have given so much for us all.
