Memorial Day Message

Dear Friends,

Memorial Day is a reminder of the men and women who never made it home, the veterans who still carry their memory forward, and the families whose lives were changed forever by that sacrifice.

We invited one of our Gold Star widows to Arlington National Cemetery to participate in the wreath laying ceremony on behalf of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.

Her husband is gone. But she is not alone.

She told us:

"I've always felt really close to everyone from my husband’s unit. They always keep in touch, they support me in my life, and make sure I am taken care of. We are family forever."

That is what the Reuniting the Brave program exists to do. We bring together veterans, Gold Star families, and families of the fallen so that the bonds formed in service never have to end.

Because the people left behind deserve a family too.
