Aaron Alonso

Sergeant U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.)
Retired U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Aaron Alonso embodies courage, dedication, and perseverance. He joined the Marine Corps immediately after graduating high school in 2006, driven by a deep sense of duty and commitment to his country. Over the course of his career, Aaron deployed six times in five years, serving on the frontlines of America’s most dangerous conflicts.
During his third deployment to Afghanistan, while conducting a foot patrol, Aaron stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED). The devastating blast resulted in the loss of both legs and additional serious injuries. He was medevacked and began a long and challenging recovery journey, spending three years rehabilitating at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
In 2017, Aaron medically retired from the Marine Corps and returned home to New Jersey, where he continues to live a full and active life. A devoted father and passionate outdoorsman, Aaron has never allowed his injuries to define his capabilities. His focus has always been on moving forward—and moving independently.
