VP, Military, Veteran, and First Responder Outreach
David Reid is a decorated combat veteran and a passionate advocate for the military, veteran, and first responder communities. He currently serves as the Vice President and Director of Military, Veteran, and First Responder Outreach for the Robert Irvine Foundation, where he leads national efforts to honor, support, and empower those who serve.
David’s commitment to service began in childhood, when he dreamed of one day joining the military. In 2008, he enlisted in the United States Army, ultimately earning a coveted position in the elite 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, part of the Army’s Special Operations Command.
Over the course of his military career, David completed three combat deployments to the Middle East—one to Iraq and two to Afghanistan. In 2010, during his second deployment to Afghanistan, he was critically wounded while clearing rooms in an enemy compound during an intense firefight. An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated, severely injuring his lower left leg. Despite the efforts of military surgeons, his leg could not be saved.
Following multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation, David remained with his unit in a leadership role, helping train incoming Rangers. He was medically retired from active duty with the rank of Sergeant, and has since continued his mission of service—this time as a civilian.
David joined the Robert Irvine Foundation in 2020, where he brings a unique blend of lived experience, leadership, and compassion to his work. In his role, he oversees key outreach programs that provide life-changing resources—including mobility devices, mental health support, and emergency assistance—to injured veterans, Gold Star families, and first responders nationwide.
In addition to his role at the Foundation, David is also the co-founder and CEO of Terra Arma, a veteran-owned performance apparel company, and co-host of the MEDEVAC Podcast, a platform that shares real stories of recovery, resilience, and life after combat.
David’s life is a testament to perseverance, purpose, and a relentless dedication to those who wear the uniform. He continues to inspire others through his leadership, storytelling, and unwavering advocacy for America’s heroes.
