A Moment to Pause at the Tampa Bay Food & Wine Festival

There’s something powerful about seeing those who are always on duty finally have a moment to pause.
To sit down.
To connect.
To refuel both physically and mentally.
For service members, veterans, and first responders, the demands of service often leave little time to focus on themselves. That's why opportunities to gather, share a meal, and spend time in community matter.
During the Tampa Bay Food & Wine Festival, the Robert Irvine Foundation hosted a Breaking Bread With Heroes breakfast for more than 250 local service members, veterans, and first responders.
What stood out most wasn't just the meal.
It was the experience.
As attendees gathered around the table, conversations flowed, stories were shared, and connections were strengthened. For a few hours, the focus shifted away from the demands of the job and toward the people behind the uniform.

Chef Robert Irvine prepared eggs to order, creating moments of connection that turned a simple breakfast into something far more meaningful.
A meal has a unique way of bringing people together. It creates space for conversation. It creates opportunities to connect. And it reminds people that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.
That belief is at the heart of the Robert Irvine Foundation's work. Through food, wellness, and community, the Foundation seeks to support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of those who serve.

The impact of the morning extended beyond breakfast.
Also participating in the festival was Calavera Coffee, a veteran-owned business and Let's Chow partner. While serving festival guests throughout the weekend, the team also received direct, one-on-one mentorship from Chef Irvine.
For veteran entrepreneurs, that kind of access can be transformative.
The Robert Irvine Foundation's Let's Chow initiative helps veteran-owned food businesses grow through mentorship, education, and opportunity. By connecting veterans with industry leaders and real-world experiences, the program creates pathways for long-term success.

This is what investing in the people behind the mission looks like.
It's creating moments where first responders, veterans, and service members can recharge.
It's helping veteran entrepreneurs build businesses and pursue new opportunities.
It's using food as a way to strengthen connection, create opportunity, and remind people they are not carrying the weight alone.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Tampa Bay Food & Wine Festival and helped make Breaking Bread With Heroes possible.
Together, we're creating opportunities for service members, veterans, first responders, and their families to connect, grow, and thrive.
