Lindsay Mulford

USAF E-4
Lindsey served her country in the U.S. Air Force, flying more than 250 combat hours in the Middle East. Her missions demanded precision, focus, and an unshakable commitment to the safety of her fellow service members. In the high-pressure environment of military aviation, she excelled—demonstrating the skill and resilience needed to operate under constant threat and in challenging conditions.
But Lindsey’s battles did not end in the air. During her service, she endured multiple sexual assaults—traumas that left deep emotional scars. In the years that followed, she was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. To feel safe, Lindsey began to isolate herself from the world, a coping mechanism that came at a steep cost. The distance created by her withdrawal extended even to her two sons, making it harder to maintain the close, everyday connections she deeply valued as a mother.

Service Dog Ace Recipient
A Mother’s Mission: Healing from the Inside Out
In 2024, hope arrived in the form of Ace, a specially trained service dog. Ace’s role is as multifaceted as Lindsey’s needs—he wakes her from night terrors, interrupts panic attacks before they spiral, and provides a grounding, stabilizing presence in public spaces. His quiet vigilance offers Lindsey something she hasn’t felt in years: a genuine sense of safety.
With Ace by her side, Lindsey is taking brave steps back into life. She is venturing out more, engaging with her community, and slowly rebuilding the bonds with her sons through shared moments she once avoided. Ace is more than a companion—he’s a partner in her healing journey, helping her reclaim independence, restore trust, and move forward with courage.
