Rosy Macias

U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Outreach Coordinator at Salem Vet Center
Rosy Macias was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States at age fourteen, spending her teenage years in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, where she graduated from high school. Determined to give back to the country that had become her new home, Rosy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1995, serving honorably on active duty until 1999 and continuing in the Marine Corps Reserve through 2002.
After relocating to Salem, Oregon, in 1999, Rosy began what would become a lifelong dedication to supporting fellow veterans. She has emerged as a leading advocate for veteran welfare, focusing on community integration and homelessness prevention. As Stand-Down Coordinator for Serving Our Veterans at Home (SOVAH), she leads outreach efforts that provide healthcare, housing assistance, employment support, and other critical services to veterans and their families.
Rosy’s leadership extends across numerous organizations. She serves as Vice President of the Women Marines Association - Portland Chapter, Women Veterans Chairperson for VFW Post 661, and Deputy State Coordinator for Team Red, White & Blue - Oregon, supporting service members as they transition to civilian life. She also contributes her expertise as a board member for the Marion-Polk YMCA and the Courtney Place Veterans Housing Board, helping ensure community resources meet the needs of those who have served.
